The commissioner of Human Rights and Humanitarian Action and relations with the civil society, Mr. Hacenna Ould Boukhriss, presided ,on Saturday, in Bassiknou, the distribution of food aids to 500 families, victims of floods that struck the city. The event witnessesd the presence of The representative of the UN Office of Human Rights High Commissioner, Mr. Lauren Maillen.
\nThe commissioner said that these aides are a part of the government’s actions aiming at solidariy with the populations, especially those in need.
\nThe representative of the UN Office of Human Rights High Commissioner, Mr. Lauren Maillen, indicated that the project has allowed to create and train village committees, composed of 64 women to reinforce their capabilities in the promotion of Human rights culture, the coexistence and to combat conflicts. He noted that the project has selected 16 women to continue this important work.
