His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and Chairman of the African Union (AU) has received a thank-you letter from Mr. Ajay Banga, the President of the World Bank Group.<\/p>\n
In the message, Mr. Banga expressed his warm thanks to the President of the Republic for his leadership and support for the International Development Association (IDA) during the 21\u1d49 replenishment of its financial resources, intended primarily to support the development of African countries.<\/p>\n
The letter highlights the importance of Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani’s partnership and support as AU Chairman, whose decisive role has been instrumental during this process.<\/p>\n
It states that thanks to these efforts, global financing of $100 billion has been mobilized, representing a historic achievement for the International Development Association (IDA).<\/p>\n
In his letter, the World Bank Group President states that this support will enable essential investments to continue in key areas such as health, education, infrastructure, climate change resilience, job creation, and economic stability.<\/p>\n
Mr. Banga reiterated his deepest thanks to the President of the Republic for his leadership and confidence throughout this process.
