H.E. President of the Republic and Chairperson of the African Union, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, met Monday evening on the sidelines of the 79th Ordinary Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York with the President of the African Development Bank (ADB) Group, Akinwumi Adesina.
\nH.E. the President praised the AfDB President’s commitment and hard work for a strong mobilization of resources for Africa, welcoming the strengthening of cooperation both in terms of performance and volume of funding, as well as the initiative with the World Bank to electrify Africa, under which 300 million Africans will have access to electricity by 2030.<\/p>\n
H.E. the President of the Republic also commended the effective implementation of the large-scale financing of the high-voltage power line between Mauritania and Mali, recalling Mauritania’s particular sub-regional context characterized by the crisis in the Sahel, the influx of refugees, as well as the persistence of various challenges related to climate change.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by H.E. Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, H.E. Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid Ahmed Ould Bouah, and H.E.
