Presidential candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani said he would work to achieve profound transformation at all levels by implementing an ambitious and realistic development program based on five main axes, including strengthening the State of law, establishing a strong economy, developing human capital, promoting social integration, national unity, and inclusive citizenship by eliminating slavery, racism, and factionalism, pursuing the implementation of social programs, developing our armed and security forces, and strengthening the external role of our country regionally and internationally.<\/p>\n
During an electoral rally organized by his campaign on 2 June in Akjoujt, the capital of Inchiri, he declared that he had worked over the last five years to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of the wilaya of Inchiri thanks to the investments devoted to it and which enabled the rehabilitation of the Akjoujt-Nouakchott road, the construction of the Benichab-Nouadhibou road, the maintenance, and rehabilitation of the sanitation network of the city of ‘Akjoujt, and multiple interventions to provide drinking water to the inhabitants of the wilaya.<\/p>\n
Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani stressed that the achievements that this wilaya has benefited from include the construction of a new high school in Akjoujt, the opening of 27 school canteens, the granting of health insurance to 2,927 people and cash transfers for 384 families, the construction of 92 social housing units in Akjoujt, the launch of a project to build 13 small dams to improve the practice of agriculture, the financing of income-generating projects, and important projects for strengthening the role of the port of Tanit in the development of the fishing sector.<\/p>\n
He affirmed his intention to double the volume of investments directed toward Incheri, put in place controls to put an end to the risks of industrial and artisanal mining, improve the share of the benefits from the wealth of the wilaya for the population, direct major projects in the health, education, water, and electricity sectors, and work to reduce the cost of living for the most vulnerable sections of the population.<\/p>\n
He also stressed that during the first term, despite the many challenges, the country was able to achieve a positive outcome, notably by launching the education reform process to begin implementing the republican school project, which started two years ago, building a large number of educational institutions, recruiting thousands of teachers, and improving their working and living conditions, building hospitals, health centers, and health posts and providing them with the necessary equipment, spending billions to improve the situation of the most vulnerable citizens, providing thousands of them with health insurance, building hundreds of kilometers of roads, bridges, and public administration headquarters, by strengthening the armed and security forces and by significantly improving the image and role of Mauritania in the world.<\/p>\n
Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani called on the inhabitants of Inchiri to vote for him in the presidential elections, the first round of which will take place on 29 June, to continue the implementation of development programs in the country and launch new development projects that will enable Mauritania to take important steps on the path to development and economic growth.<\/p>\n
