Mr. Outouma Antoine Souleymane Soumare, the candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, said he was shocked by the state of the asphalt roads in the Wilaya of Guidimagha in general and the absence of an asphalt road connecting Kankoussa, in Assaba, and Selibabi, capitol of the Wilaya of Guidimagha.<\/p>\n
Presiding over an electoral meeting on 23 June in Selibabi, the candidate considered the absence of a road connecting the Wilayas of Assaba and Guidimagha as neglect of this part of the country in which there are dozens of towns and villages.<\/p>\n
He stressed that the city of Selibabi suffers from a lack of electricity, water, education, and health, indicating that Guidimagha does not receive its share of electricity from the Manentali dam, which supplies several cities very remote, such as the capital Nouakchott, Nouadhibou, and Zouerate, while most of the towns in the neighboring Wilaya of Guidimakha do not benefit from it.<\/p>\n
He pledged that If he wins the next elections on 29 June 2024, he will connect all towns and rural areas of Guidimagha to electricity from the Manentali dam and complete the paved roads of the Moughataa of Kankoussa and all landlocked villages and localities.<\/p>\n
