His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, during his meeting with the executives of the wilaya of Dakhlet Nouadhibou tonight, as part of his visit to the wilaya, affirmed his determination to make the wilaya of Dakhlet Nouadhibou a leading development pole in the region, praising the cultural, political and economic contribution of the city to the past and present of the Mauritanian state.<\/p>\n
He added that the meeting of the Council of Ministers in Nouadhibou today aims to promote local economic development by discussing major development issues closely related to the basic economic characteristics of the state in order to establish balanced regional development that is in harmony nationally with the objectives of decentralization, and regionally with the need to promote local development.<\/p>\n
His Excellency the President of the Republic said that this visit comes in response to many reasons, including a close acquaintance with the general situation in the state and deliberating with its executives and political and economic actors on the most prominent problems raised and ways to overcome them, as well as bringing the administration closer to the citizen, so that he can raise his problems closely to the officials of the various ministerial sectors, and listen directly to the responses of each of them separately.<\/p>\n
His Excellency expressed to the residents of the city of Nouadhibou, and all the residents of Dakhlet Nouadhibou, his sincere thanks to them for the warm reception and hospitality, which is one of the characteristics of the residents of the state, which has a long-standing position and an important strategic location.<\/p>\n
His Excellency reiterated, once again, the need to listen directly to the views of the city’s executives on the general conditions of the state and the development problems posed to it, because of their views of importance to him.<\/p>\n
After that, His Excellency the President of the Republic commented on the interventions of the executives and dignitaries of the wilaya of Nouadhibou, thanking them for their presence, which enabled them to deal positively with the essential matters.<\/p>\n
His Excellency stressed the importance of the Republican School project, calling on everyone to support and accompany it as it will contribute to preparing a responsible generation capable of assuming responsibility in circumstances that may be more difficult.<\/p>\n
He added that the success of the Republican School will contribute to eliminating differences in the field of education and strengthening social cohesion, which requires the concerted efforts of all.<\/p>\n
He regretted that there was still talk of water and electricity shortages in Nouadhibou and pledged to work to provide these services in the near future.<\/p>\n
He considered that the free zone is an important development project, despite some drawbacks to it, calling for the provision of basic services to attract investors.<\/p>\n
In response to a question about the Nouakchott-Nouadhibou road, the President of the Republic said that work is underway to build it in a good way.<\/p>\n
The President of the Republic directed the ministers to respond to the questions and problems of the interveners, each with regard to his sector.<\/p>\n
