The Islamic Republic of Mauritania condemned the Israeli air strikeout of the Iranian<\/p>\n
consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus.<\/p>\n
This came in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians<\/p>\n
Abroad on Wednesday, a copy of which was received by the Mauritanian News Agency,<\/p>\n
which reads as follows:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad has received with<\/p>\n
strong condemnation the targeting of the Iranian consulate in Damascus by Israeli aviation,<\/p>\n
in flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Republic and in great disregard for<\/p>\n
international conventions and covenants that safeguard the sanctity of diplomatic and<\/p>\n
consular premises. The Ministry, while condemning this heinous targeting, reaffirms the<\/p>\n
need to respect diplomatic and consular premises and the sovereignty of States in<\/p>\n
