On 6 April, the Minister of Oil, Mines, and Energy, Mr Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, signed, in Nouakchott, an exploration-production contract with the CAIRN ENERGY oil company, represented by its exploration director, Mr ERICHATHON.<\/p>\n
The contract covers block C7, located in the offshore of the coastal basin of Mauritania.<\/p>\n
In a speech on the occasion, the Minister of Oil, Mines, and Energy said that the signing of this exploration and production agreement at this precise moment where the oil markets are quite disturbed, constitutes proof of the confidence given to our country by CAIRN.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe agreement proves that Mauritania is still attractive, even under difficult conditions. We hope that the work carried out by CAIRN in Block C7 will be productive\u201d, as Mr. Mohamed Saleh put it.<\/p>\n
For his part, the representative of CAIRN ENEGRGY expressed his satisfaction with the signing of this agreement which aims to explore and produce Block C7 in collaboration and in partnership between Mauritania and his company.<\/p>\n
