he said.

With regard to energy supply and security, the variables that significantly affect the gas industry and the measures that can be taken to meet the challenges of the gas industry, His Excellency the President of the Republic said that the fluctuations of the global energy market and tensions in energy-producing areas pose a great risk to energy security in various countries, where supply chains are affected and costs rise, noting that regional and global cooperation is essential to reduce the impact of external factors and to find sustainable solutions to secure supply chains.

“We are working through international organizations and economic partners to create sustainable frameworks to address these challenges through strategic partnerships in the fields of production and export of low-carbon energy,” he added.

On the most prominent projects that Mauritania is working on to strengthen its position in the gas industry, His Excellency the President of the Republic said: “In addition to the gas resources of approximately 50 trillion cubic feet of low-carbon and high-quality gas at the level of the turtle and Birallah fields, Mauritania enjoys significant renewable energy resources such as wind energy and solar radiation, which ranges from 2,000 to 2,300 kilowatt hours per square meter annually, and our country’s proximity to international markets is a contributing factor to the supply of energy to Europe.”

He added: “Moreover, the field of green hydrogen is a promising field for us due to the significant potential that our country enjoys, as it is one of the few countries that enjoys many complementary advantages simultaneously, has significant solar and wind energy capabilities, has water and large areas with little population, as well as proximity to major international markets.”

His Excellency pointed out that Mauritania has signed four memoranda related to green hydrogen projects with a total capacity of 85 gigawatts, and there are many companies wishing to sign, which proves the confidence of investors in the investment climate in his country and the quality of the distinguished capabilities available in it, stressing that Mauritania is currently working on preparing a law on green hydrogen that will be submitted to Parliament in its next session.

The President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani said that Mauritania joined the Gas Exporting Countries Forum as an observer in October last year, stressing that it is a step taken in preparation for the start of the actual export of liquefied gas from the Great Ahmeim turtle field by the end of […]

[7,3084,3085,3077,3081

post-15083","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-7","category-generals-slider","category-mauritanias-slider","category-show","category-slider-show
["GET
