His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, supervised, on Sunday evening in Atar, the laying of the foundation stone of the rainwater drainage network in the cities of Atar and Silbabi, and the inauguration of the expansion of the potable water network in the province of Atar, as part of the activities commemorating the sixty-third anniversary of the National Independence Day.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr. Ismail Ould Abdel Vettah, explained in a speech on the occasion that the rainwater drainage project will enable the supply and laying of water drainage pipes from reinforced concrete with a length of 4 km, and the construction of two water collection basins, one with a capacity of 39.000 cubic meters, and the other with a capacity of 19.000 cubic meters, adding that the project will include the construction of corridors to drain water towards the water basins, in addition to the rehabilitation of the waterway in the valley, the development of water barriers, and the restoration and rehabilitation of the water barrier located east of city, renovation and rehabilitation of the existing rainwater drainage network.<\/p>\n
The Minister stated that the implementation period of the project takes 9 months, with funding of approximately 85 million new Ouguyas at the expense of the state.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the project to strengthen the supply of potable water to the city of Atar enabled the rehabilitation and expansion of the distribution network, the acquisition and renewal of 9.5 km of pipes with diameters (90 – 110 – 160 – 250 – 315) mm, in addition to the acquisition and subtraction of 1 km of pipes with a diameter of 160 mm, to connect the new hospital to the network, with the completion of 500 new household connections in the city, the construction of protection rooms for pumps in the Tiaret Sadr field, the construction and installation of a third line with a length of 450 meters and a diameter of 250 mm, and the acquisition and installation of 1.8 km of Pipes with diameters of 250 and 160 mm, in addition to the rehabilitation of the city’s upper tank.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
