The first document relates to the Team Europe initiative, which aims to support the development of the necessary infrastructure in Mauritania to enable the production, transport, and marketing of green hydrogen, encourage the creation of decent job opportunities, particularly for young people, support the private sector, and improve the environment for entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
It is also about contributing to the development of skills through technical and professional training, supporting research and development to provide the qualified workforce required by the hydrogen ecosystem, strengthening the legal and fiscal framework, and improving the business climate to create an investment environment favorable to the development of hydrogen exploitation and related activities, such as green steel.<\/p>\n
The second document concerns a 2024 action plan with a funding envelope of 37 million euros, which will allow the implementation of all funding amounting to 125 million euros allocated for the period 2021-2024 to development cooperation within the framework of the new Neighborhood, Development, and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI).<\/p>\n
The action plan includes four types of support according to the following axes:<\/p>\n
\u2013 13.7 million euros to facilitate access to quality and affordable food by strengthening value chains and economic actors;<\/p>\n
\u2013 10 million euros to promote environmentally friendly fishing systems and strengthen the fishing value chain. It will also participate in financing the construction of maritime infrastructure;<\/p>\n
\u2013 7 million euros to prevent conflicts and promote dialogue by strengthening the offer of cultural and sporting services, on the one hand, and by supporting, on the other hand, civil society initiatives representing youth;<\/p>\n
