\"\"On 17 July, in Nouakchott, Mr. Yaghoub Ahmed Aicha, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Mr. Mamadou Diallo, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, signed with Mr. Marc Lucy, the representative of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), a cooperation agreement on capacity building in the field of the preparation and execution of the State budget for the social sectors.<\/p>\n

The agreement aims to create effects at the level of the national budgets of the sectors concerned to obtain benefits that guarantee children’s rights.<\/p>\n

In a speech on this occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development indicated that the agreement would constitute a qualitative complement to accompany government policies in the conceptualization and implementation of social programs and their governance through training and capacity building.<\/p>\n

He added that the distribution of resources at the level of the social sectors represents 38% of the budgets allocated to the ministerial departments.<\/p>\n

For his part, the UNICEF representative indicated that the Fund is working closely with government actors to promote a comprehensive budget policy that reflects the rights and interests of children in Mauritania.<\/p>\n
