The Islamic Republic of Mauritania strongly condemned the storming of the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist Israeli minister of national security.
This came in the following statement on Sunday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad:
”The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad strongly condemns the storming of the courtyard of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist Israeli minister of national security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, under the protection of the Israeli forces, in a new provocation to the sentiments of Muslims worldwide and a flagrant violation of all international norms and covenants.
On this occasion, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania affirms its firm position on the side of the brotherly Palestinian people and its full support for everything that can support its endeavors to restore its legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of its independent state on the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. It also renews its absolute rejection of any measures aimed at changing the legal and historical status of the holy places.
It calls on the international community to assume its full responsibilities to protect the Palestinian people and to put an end to the repeated Israeli violations of the holy places”.
