President of Republic Performs Id Al-Fitr Prayer at Ibn Abbas Mosque

On 21 April, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, performed the Id al-Fitr prayer at the Ibn Abbas mosque in Nouakchott.

 In his sermon, Imam Ahmedou Ould Lemrabott Ould Habib Rahman, who led the prayer, highlighted the greatness of the blessed Id Al-Fitr, which Muslims, with the blessing of Allah, celebrate joyfully after the days of fasting. 

He added that among the blessings of Allah on us, for which we thank him, the positive commitment of the Head of State – in various fields – which has made it possible to close the door to conflicts, confrontations, and rivalries, restore security and stability, and pave the way for progress and prosperity. 

He added that this wise approach strengthens our national unity and our social cohesion, following the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (PSL): There is no superiority for an Arab over a non-Arab, nor a black over a white; except through piety”.

In addition, the Imam clarified the provisions of Zakat al-Fitr: its measures, its nature, and its beneficiaries.
