Foreign Minister Participates in UN General Assembly Opening Session

On 23 September, Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug attended the opening of the 80th UN General Assembly in New York. This year’s agenda, themed “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights”, calls for collaboration on key global issues and includes high-level meetings—such as pivotal discussions on the Palestinian issue.

In addition to the Minister, the participating delegation includes:

– Ambassador Sidi Mohamed Laghdaf, Mauritania’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations;

– Ambassador Mohamed Ben Tetta, Chargé d’Affaires;

– Ambassador Ahmed Mahmouda, Director of Multilateral Cooperation;

– Ambassador Mokhtar Mbaba, Director of the United Nations;

– Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Doua, Director of Communication and Media;

– Ambassador Mohamed Diop, Director of Protocol;

– Mr. Adnan Cheibani, Senior Advisor at the Embassy;

– Mr. Baba Mohammed, Senior Advisor at the Embassy.
