Ministry of Energy and Petroleum confirms Successful Plugging of gas Bubble Leak from Well A02 at Turtle Field

The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum confirmed that the operation to plug the leakage of gas bubbles from the A02 well in the Turtle Ahmeyim field was successful on Wednesday evening, with the landing and installation of technical equipment on the well head, which enabled the leakage to be completely stopped.
The ministry added in a statement issued on Thursday, a copy of which was received by the Mauritanian News Agency, that the tests and examinations conducted by the team after the completion of the work confirmed the success of the operation.
This is the text of the statement:
“In order to continue to inform the public opinion and disseminate information about the implementation of the plan to address the gas bubble leakage from well A02 in the Turtle Ahmim GTA field, we would like to inform you of the following:
-The operation to plug the gas bubble leak was successfully completed yesterday evening with the landing and installation of the LRP technical equipment on the wellhead and the leak was completely stopped. The tests and examinations carried out by the team after the completion of the works confirmed this.
-The technical teams, reinforced with equipment, will continue to monitor the well from the site as a precaution, while the ROV equipped with cameras and sensors will continue to be underwater near the well head to continue close monitoring and transmit images from the site.
The latest updates on what has been done show the following:
-The last helicopter flyover on March 11 did not show any material on the sea surface
-The latest satellite imagery taken on March 12 did not show any material on the sea surface
-Helicopter tours and permanent satellite surveillance of the area will continue periodically.
The national navy is also continuing its patrols to continuously monitor the area.
