Iranian Embassy in Nouakchott organizes a Reception on the Occasion of its Country’s National Day

The Iranian embassy in Mauritania held a reception on Tuesday evening in Nouakchott on the occasion of its country’s National Day.

The Government was represented at the ceremony by Mr Mohamed Mahmoud Cheikh Abdallahi Ould Boye, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Ambassador and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Daman Mohamed Hammar, Ambassador Director General for Bilateral Cooperation Mohamed El Hanashi Al Kettab, and Ambassador Director for Asia and Oceania Salek Mohamed Moussa.

In a speech delivered on the occasion, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Mauritania, HE Mr. Javad Abou Ali Akbar, stressed that bilateral relations between Mauritania and Iran are based on brotherhood and respect, pointing to the development of bilateral relations over the past years in all political, economic, scientific and cultural fields, as they witnessed bilateral meetings between senior officials of the two countries.

HE the Ambassador noted the positive step in increasing bilateral interactions through the abolition of visas for Mauritanian citizens to enter Iran starting this year, the active participation of the Mauritanian public and private sectors in the Iran Expo 2024, the increase in trade exchange and the increase in international cooperation between the two countries.
