Embassy of the Italian Republic in Mauritania organizes a Reception on the Occasion of its National Day

The Government was represented at the ceremony by Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ismail Ould Abdel Fattah, Prime Minister’s Advisor Hindou Mint Ainaina, and Ambassador and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Alia Mint Yahya Ould Menkouss.
On this occasion, the Italian Ambassador accredited to Mauritania, HE. Laura Bota, expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Mauritanian state for its interest in strengthening political and economic cooperation and the historical friendship between the two countries, praising the level of strong strategic partnership between the two countries, and the progress and development it is witnessing within the framework of keenness to achieve common interests and consolidate regional and global peace and security.
She said that the year 2024 witnessed a distinguished event with Italy assuming the presidency of the Group of Seven and Mauritania chairing the African Union, which strengthened relations between the two countries, and led to the opening of the Italian embassy in Nouakchott.
